“Hi, I’m spam…”

HeatherO on 03 29, 2009

Hi (“friend” INSERT NAME HERE),
My name is spam. I am called spam because you did not ask for me, and because I was not sent to you personally (I was sent to a “list”). I am called spam because I am the only email or “wall” comment that you have ever received from me, and I am asking you for something! I am spam because you never receive an email or post from my sender just asking how you are, inviting you for coffee, or offering to help you. I’m afraid that I don’t offer enough value, so you won’t seek out what I have to offer, or say, because I haven’t taken the time to get to know you, so I have to throw it at you, ok?
I don’t realize that just because I think people should read me, or want me, or buy me, just because I think I’m important, doesn’t mean other people do…
I am spam because I am something that you do not want that really does not serve YOU (only me)…I want you to want me, and I want you to like me and so I think that you should. Do you?

Love,
Spamme

LOL! I had to post this because not only have I received more spam via email this week than I ordinarily do, I recently joined another ning social network for small business and found myself feeling quite assaulted! I rec’d a number of “welcome’s” on my wall and EVERY one except 1, was spam!
It kinda felt like going into a bar and having someone walk up to you and say “hi, nice to meet you! wanna sleep w/me?”
I guess I’m spoiled by www.inside919.com! (Thanks for that Pat Howlett, founder of insideareacodes.com!)

By the way, here is my profile page w/ the “welcome’s ” that I rec’d! You’ve gotta see it! It’s almost funny:)
