Entrepreneurship-The Ultimate in Freedom & Independence!

I can’t help but muse today about how relevant entrepreneurship is with the momentary focus on freedom and independence. I say momentary, because we don’t think about it every day. With July 4th upon us, we will however, if but for a day or two. So many people are “hurting” and uncertain in our country today. Many have “lost” much, and many feel that what they have lost, and where they are is out of their control.
The truth is, things are happening in our country that we do not control. However, we still live in the greatest land of opportunity on the planet!
The truth is, we still have control over far more than we realize!
The truth is, we can control what our attitude will be each and every day before our feet hit the floor! We can choose whether to wait for that phone call, or that job offer, or new prospect, or we can DO something!
We do not live in a country where you have to be born rich, or famous, or even be educated to be wealthy or successful. We live in a country where nearly 90% of all millionaires are first generation millionaires! We live in a country where 8 out of 10 millionaires were bankrupt at least once! We live in a country where immigrants are 3 times as likely to become millionaires as those of us who were blessed to be born here because they see opportunity everywhere!
I encourage everyone to reflect this weekend on what you can do for your self! You may think that you aren’t “an entrepreneur” because you have a job, or want one, or because you’re an artist, or doctor, or writer. I define being “entrepreneurial” as being fearless, and bold, and being willing to take action to create something bigger than you are that makes a difference in the world!
You don’t have to have money or an education, or fame to make a difference! What can YOU do? What can you do to make a difference in your own life? What can YOU do to make a difference for someone else? What can YOU do, today?
If you have a business and need business, you can print small flyers and go to local businesses and introduce yourself, if you are looking for a job, you can do the same. Even if it doesn’t seem like a “relevant” business, you NEVER know who could be the one!

It’s like fishing!
There are never any guarantees that the fish will be there, but you certainly won’t catch one if you never go fishing! So GO!

Think of just 1 thing that you can do this weekend to make a difference for yourself, or someone else. Teach a kid how to set up a lemonade stand, pass along someone ELSE’s resume, go to a July 4th celebration and make a point to meet 5 people.

Do SOMETHING! Because you CAN! Because you have the freedom to! Because you have the opportunity in this great land of ours to Be, do or have whatever you CHOOSE! And that my friends is what we are celebrating this weekend!
